2010 Program

Program 12 October 2010

You and your guests are expected at the Waterland Marina in Monnickendam at 9:30 AM, where we will start the day with coffee and an introduction to the other teams. Subsequently, a multimedia presentation will be given by an appealing and well-known speaker from the nautical world. Watch this site for more details on this.

After the presentation and a “10 minute sailing course” you will board your ship. If you have rented a yacht with skipper through Jibe!, you will then meet an experienced skipper,  who will accompany you throughout the day. In the morning you will be able to divide the tasks on board between the members of your team and to train for the actual IT Sails regatta, which will take place in the afternoon. Who will be the navigator, who will be the tactic? What’s the wind doing, and how will you ensure your team rounds the buoy first? Around 12:30 PM we will return to the harbour to have lunch and of course to exchange the first experiences!

Lunch will be followed by a short match briefing, after which we return to the ships to prepare for the launch of IT Sails 2010.

Will Atos Origin be able to win back the floating trophy or will another team take the stage? A fun racing course will be laid out on the 'IJsselmeer' so you will be able to experience the exhilaration of racing match sailing. After the race, we will return to the harbour for a debriefing, prize ceremony and drinks, during which we expect to hear many strong tales :-)
